Commuting From Cranford, NJ

By Rail

New Jersey Transit’s Raritan Valley Line provides rail service from the Cranford Train Station into Newark Penn Station and then a direct connection of one stop into Penn Station New York.  You can also change trains at Newark and take the PATH train to Jersey City, Hoboken or Downtown Manhattan (including the Wall Street area.)  If you catch a non-stop train, the average train journey would be approximately 44 minutes.  Many trains do make stops and those journeys take between 45 and 55 minutes depending on how many stops are made.

By Bus

There is an Express Bus Service from Cranford Rail Station to The Port Authority Bus Station in New York City.  The 113x bus stops at the stop on North Avenue at Alden Street and the journey takes approximately 50 minutes.  Some Cranford residents prefer the bus over the train service, and the monthly cost for the bus is $216.00.  To see the bus route and more information, please click this link.

By Road

Cranford NJ is located approximately 19 miles south-west of New York City .  It  is conveniently located at Exit Number 137 of the Garden State Parkway.  Route 22 North runs to the north of town and route I-78 runs to the North of that.


Cranford is about a 17 minute drive from Newark Liberty International Airport, a major gateway for both continental and international flights.
